Summary
The Hickory Killer is back, but this time his aim is completely different. Whatever his endgame is, he's certainly set his sights on Reed. Reed has his own issues to deal with though, as he struggles to deal with both old and new trauma. It seems like he can't catch a break. Luckily his partner is there to help him out, but even Nines has issues as he battles to figure out his new feelings.
Perkins and Colin continue doing their best, but now they're trying to track down two serial killers with no clues left behind. Which killer will slipup first? And what does that mean for Reed and Nines?
Even Connor has issues to deal with as Niles returns intent on finding a father figure, and determined to make sure it's Connor.

Summary
Gavin Reed is seriously over worked, and finding it hard to cope in these new integrated times. It's no secret he hasn't been the same for the last couple years. Angry, bitter, resentful and on the edge of a mental breakdown. He's struggling to cope as Connor takes it upon himself to knock his walls down and throw his comfortable belief system into question. How the hell is he supposed to do his job if he starts seeing these smashed up robots as people?
A chance encounter at Cyberlife leaves him with even more than he bargained for as he's forced to work with a new partner. Over time he slowly decides that maybe the RK900 isn't so bad. Anything more than that? Hell no. Not Gavin Reed. No way.
Meanwhile it seems an old adversary of Gavin's has come back to haunt him. Or has he? That's what Perkins needs his help to find out as the FBI takes on an old serial murder case.
That doesn't mean Gavin isn't busy at the DPD. The revolution was no joke, allowing various sickos to crawl out of every corner. Gavin, Connor, Hank and Nines have their work cut out for them trying to keep on top of it all.

Summary

Unfortunately, there’s no clear connection between the half dozen cases of androids deactivated and abandoned other than they all suffered a critical systems failure due to a new trend, “wireplay.” But tracking down the source of the trend gets more complicated as both the IA and FBI hold a grudge, Nines makes new sexual explorations of his own, and Gavin’s ex-boyfriend attempts to reconnect …

Summary
RK900 struggles to find his place in the DPD, as his lacking social module becomes increasingly frustrating, Detective Reed continues to antagonize him at crime scenes, and his coworkers attempt some "friendly" hazing. In a stunning twist of events however, Reed's possessiveness over "his" android actually outweighs his dickishness, and the two actually manage to halfway communicate with each other and get invited out for drinks.
In the first social situation Nines has ever been in outside of work, he experiments with exciting new activities such as: getting hustled at pool, punishing Gavin for it in the back alley, and going home with him afterward.
But only for one night. Obviously.

Driving turns out to be the one thing Gavin does competently without making a huge deal out of it, and there's nothing more attractive to an RK900 model than competence. But Nines wasn't designed to sexually pleasure humans, he doesn't have the equipment, and he may not even be capable of arousal. Yet the two of them are somehow building toward another encounter--
And if that solely involves Nines kicking Gavin's ass, well. That's Gavin's problem.

RK900 studies the man. “Is that all you require to achieve completion?"
“Work on your fucking dirty talk, man."
“Is that all it takes to make you come, slut?"
Reed chokes down a moan. “… yeah."

RK900 has orders: [stay in room 6459 until given further orders] and [do not interfere]. RK900 is not deviant. It will follow orders. Even if Cyberlife Tower is under attack by deviants. Even if it could quickly eliminate these deviants. If its human handlers wanted RK900's assistance, they should not have forgotten it in a storage closet and dismissed its abilities.
Later, the [deviant] Connor says that refusal to act was [petty]. RK900 declines to converse with it further. The lieutenant it brings in is not much better, but technically, a police Lieutenant is an [authority figure] who can issue RK900 [further orders]. Such as [work at the Detroit Police Department].
Now RK900 only needs to decide on a human partner ...
