Summary
"So many people are grateful to you and you have no idea how much you make their lives easier. It's incredible."
Victor lifted his head, his look was complicated, full of contradictions. But something like gratitude flickered, something Silco dared to call warmth. He rose from his chair to kneel at the same level as his son. He placed a hand on the back of the teen's head and buried his palm in the soft brown hair, squeezing the strands between his fingers hard enough for the boy to realize how important it was to hear what he was telling him right now.
"You're incredible, Viktor." he repeated, his voice filled with an almost desperate tenderness."I will never lose you. Ever. It's impossible."
He pressed their foreheads together for a long moment. A gentle, long-standing Zaun tradition and a silent affirmation of their deep bond. In this simple ritual, it was a gesture not only of love but of trust, of deep understanding. More was felt in that brief touch than in a hundred words spoken out loud.

Summary

Summary
Oh, the path of God.
Made you a saint in some people's eyes, a coward in others. Dennis was just happy to follow it, despite people's opinions about his choices. He served, and he prayed, and he followed a path made to be one meant for Christ, and Christ alone.
Dennis Whitaker has three months until he becomes a priest. Three months until his vows are permanent. Three months to keep pretending he's not broken. Then Michael Robinavitch robs a bank in Silver Creek and takes Dennis hostage, and everything Dennis thought he knew about sin, salvation, and himself begins to unravel in the New Mexico desert.
Robby isn't supposed to be kind. He isn't supposed to teach Dennis to survive, to listen without judgment, to look at him like he's worth saving. And Dennis isn't supposed to feel this want he's spent ten years praying away.

Summary
At the turn of the 20th century, Dennis was a simple farm boy. Sequestered in Broken Bow, Nebraska, he always accepted that his fate would probably rest somewhere west of Omaha. He’d marry a girl, help run the farm, have a few children and get on with his life—no matter the daydreams and the nights spent wishing he could be anywhere else.
Until his uncle writes with a peculiar proposition.
Now a clerk in Pittsburgh and trying to find his way in the world, he finds it isn’t so shiny and pretty as his dreams once depicted. He’s sick. And it only seems to be getting worse.
Robby is a doctor with a chip on his shoulder the size of the Allegheny, but he isn’t going to pass up the chance to diagnose something like this. Especially when there’s something about this boy that calls to his soul: to his blood. In Dennis he faces a challenge he’s never been forced to confront before.
Can Robby conquer his past and help this young man or will the trying destroy them both in the process?

Summary
“Holy shit,” Santos says. “There’s a baby priest in triage.”
-
Dennis Whitaker, in his last year of seminary, is delighted to be assigned to a rectory in Pittsburgh, and to the hospital chaplaincy that comes along with it. Finally, he's out into the world, where he can be of real use.
Slightly less welcome is Doctor Robinavitch, the senior attending of the ER, who seems to resent Whitaker's presence to the point of deliberate avoidance, even though the man is coming apart at the seams and could clearly use a friendly ear. Still, Whitaker is certain he'll find a way to make the most of the last twelve months before he's ordained.
It's just that lately he's started to have the strangest dreams.
Or: Dennis Whitaker and Michael Robinavitch's lovestruck, sacrilegious year of magical thinking.
