None of this would have happened before Chuck died. Dean would have gotten distracted by the girls, or the bartender, or a vampire would have come in and started fucking drinking everyone in sight or—or even just, Dean would have been angry, angry about something else, and he would have sat and stewed and not looked anywhere but right in front. That’s what would have happened before.
And there’s a sense, as Dean thinks about it in the next few days, letting his thoughts burrow from shadow to shadow, that all of that has happened before, too. That when he remembers coming up to these older guys, loose with fake drunkenness, when he let his body drape over theirs, over the pool table, ass up, trying to slip their money out of their pockets in one way or another-- there’s a sense that maybe all that was there, but he was too focused on the goal to see it. The money. Sammy’s new shoes. Gas for the next week. Beer for today, tomorrow. And he was too afraid of his Dad, and what his Dad would say, to entertain any ideas but the ones sanctioned. Maybe that’s why Chuck let him keep doing it. Because he never got too close.

Hardison is a patient man—being patient means accepting that the movement of the world happens in its own time, and that your anxiety won’t bring the future any closer than it is already. He was patient with Parker, letting her come to him in her own time. They were both patient with Eliot, and then in the middle of a haze of gunshots, with Eliot zipping from thug to thug, disarming, disabling, El looked over his shoulder and said, "Hey, you guys are trying to get me to sleep with you, right?" and Parker yelled, "Well, yeah, but mostly we're trying to get you to go on dates with us!" and Hardison added, hollering, "We think you're the bees knees, man!" Eliot tucked, rolled, kicked the legs out of some poor kid in way over his head, and as he took the gun apart shouted, "Yeah, ok. Tonight? I'll make steaks." Then he did some kind of kung fu move and brought down the last goon standing in their way.
Like, Hardison doesn't know what he expected. He knows Eliot operates better in chaos. It's the quiet times that fuck with him.

He’s got a gray checkered scarf on, for gods sake; He looks like he should be sitting in a coffee shop buying nothing but a one-dollar drip for hours on end and bitching out the barista for selling coffee harvested by baby penguins. Instead, he’s here, in front of a vault, singing off key on purpose. It’s all a travesty. No one in the criminal underground will hire Eliot after this."

Summary
The first time Parker and Hardison came over to Leon and Janes' farm for dinner, just them, is in February, out in the barn, all butternut squashes and winter berries and last season’s apples in an apple caramel pie, and Eliot can feel Leon and James watching them.
Watching him casually rub Hardison’s neck—he was up all night peering into the screen, ok, his shoulders are tight—or spinning Parker around in a little twirl because the old radio is on and has started playing a song she likes.
Later, cleaning up, they ask how long the three of them have been together. Parker says ten years, Hardison says 12, and Eliot points to the two of them — ”They’ve been together since 2011. Going strong. We’ve been working jobs as a team since ’08, and Parker took the lead in 2012 and in 2013 opened up twelve new crews internationally, I mean she’s a powerhouse. Hardison just started his international relief NGO, and I’m so proud of him, he’s really doing incredible work.”
Leon and James look at each other, but smooth whatever it is over quickly, thank them again for their help saving the farm.

"He tries to pay attention to the heats, the swimmers and their deep inhales before the jump. Their swimsuits and bodies streamlined together, their tight hips and the skin over their shoulders. The synchronized diving always takes his breath: two people turning as one, flipping as one, moving as one. He loves the women's synchronized diving but the men's is--more. Watching, now, it’s almost meditative: the climb, the pause, the announcement, the jump-- the swim, the climb, the pause, the announcement, the jump. Some of the duos move in tandem even on land—the Mexicans are like that. The Americans are like that. He finds himself staring at a duo getting ready—South Korea. They’re shaking out their legs in synch. Do they even notice they’re doing it? Their shoulders, their legs—he’s staring. His head is full of cotton. Moving in tandem with another person like that--it just hurts to look at.
He turns back to the still, clear waters of the diving pool."

Summary
Fleeing the aftermath of his recent divorce, Draco Malfoy takes up a post as the new Potions Master at Hogwarts. At first he believes his hopes for a fresh start are dashed when he sees that a certain boyhood rival is on staff there as well. But Harry Potter is being weirdly nice to him, leaving Draco no choice but to play along.
