Summary
Known as the Scaleless Targaryen, Rhaelys spent her life hearing tales of all that she lacked. Yet dragons know their own, and when the war for the Iron Throne slit open the throat of the Seven Kingdoms and consumed all that House Targaryen had built, Rhaelys and Daemon became both the wonder and the terror of their age.
Questions arose concerning the mastery of the Valyrian tongue and the bond with dragons. Many claimed it had come through eggs discovered within an ancient nest, whilst others preferred to believe it was wrought through the sorceries of the DRAGON’S DOGMA.
What few understood was that no sorrow cuts deeper than that of a Targaryen born without scales. Yet a scaleless Targaryen was never destined to win kingdoms. Kingdoms are the prize of lesser men. Dragons are the prize of theirs.
