Summary
Level 1 bonds, at their core, are practical things. They are incredibly clinical, especially in the MLH. Injected with grade A suppressants to keep the bond controlled, exchanging scents as briefly as was manageable, a quick barely-there shallow bite to the gland on the omega's neck, paperwork filed with the league office after a full day of observations, and suddenly an omega is considered 'safe' to play professional hockey. The omega, now bonded, is considered less likely to 'disrupt team dynamics,' whatever that means.
Shane had been nineteen when Montreal assigned him to Gilbert Comeau.
OR: omegas are only allowed to play professional hockey if they enter into a contracted bond with an alpha on their team. Shane's alpha in Montreal is more than lackluster, but what can he expect? Though, maybe a little forewarning would have been nice, because Comeau suddenly wants him gone, and Shane soon finds himself being traded to what could be the worst possible outcome: Boston.

Oh my gosh. I love the worldbuilding and Shane being told how great he actually is. Him being an unreliable narrator is done so well, with Ilya slowly going crazy in the background unbeknownst to Shane. I do wish it had more chapters so that we could see how the bonded pair would dominate and show Montreal how much they messed up.

This is wonderful. Moments in Shane and Ilya's relationship from an outside perspective. A meditation on the concept of love and loving someone. Truly phenomenal.

Summary
"Listen, Mr. Rozanov." The general manager is talking out of the side of his mouth, his cigarette dropping ashes all over the hotel table. "We like you. We want you. We understand you are putting yourself under a fair amount of risk here, meeting with us like this. I hope it's obvious that if you play for us, we will set you up for a good life in Canada."
He pauses, looks Ilya in the eye. "But you have to understand, if you agree to this, you have to be prepared to leave with us right now."

Summary
There’s no humor in Shane’s voice. It’s cold, hard, determined. “When we meet them on the ice next season, I want to fucking destroy them.”
After a moment, he feels Ilya nod thoughtfully behind him.
“Is good plan. Let’s fucking destroy them.”
The Montreal Voyageurs won't stop slinging mud at Shane in the press, so Shane and Ilya decide to get revenge the best way they know how.

I think I held my breathe the whole way through this fic. The magnificent rising tension in Shane as the fic goes on and the brilliant foreshadowing/glimpses into the future were done masterfully.
Shane and Ilya navigating hatred from Montreal as tensions rise after the last book.

Summary
Dick rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “I’m mostly used to sparring with my little brothers, it’s kind of just habit, and I was having fun. I didn’t want the match to be over too quick.”
“Too quick?” Derek asked, eyebrows raised. “I’m twice your size, kid.”
Dick shrugged. “So’s Bruce and we’re pretty much tied at this point, or at least according to the score board the kids started to keep for Saturday spars.”
“Saturday spars?” Derek repeated, following him towards the locker room.
Dick flashed him a smile. “What? Don’t have any weird family traditions?”
“Not ones that include hitting each other,” Derek said
