Summary
They always thought they were so clever, that they knew better than the lowly prince from across the sea. Be it his brothers, his parents, a witch, some hapless princess from a kingdom far off; they always thought themselves to be further than they actually were.
Hans knew what he had to do to claim what was his, he knew the risks, what it would take, how long it would take. It was just a good thing he was willing to dirty his hands, but for the title of king, there was no low he wasn't willing to stoop to so he could achieve it.
Whether that meant throwing someone else beneath him to soften the fall, he would do it.
He would do anything.
Even that of turning back the clocks, returning to the moment in time where everything that he'd hoped for, everything that he'd wished for...had all come undone.
For if there were one thing people always underestimated with him, it was the lengths that he was willing to go to get what he wanted, and in his mind?
What he deserved.

Summary
His mind was never quiet anymore. She didn’t want it to be.
Every waking moment, every idle second, he could feel her hands like a vice grip, rooting around in his ruined brain…but he never fought her. She belonged there, it felt; she’d been there long enough that he didn’t know any other way to be.
They were one and the same. They were Conner and M’gann.
And they were all that they would ever need.
She would make sure of it.

Summary
As far as anyone was concerned, Dash was as perfect as they came. A captain of just about every sports team in Casper High, he was top dog in terms of popularity, literally everything that anyone wanted to be.
He was just...perfect.
And that was exactly what he'd like to have everyone think, if only to have them miss the unraveling that was happening, just beneath the surface. Behind that charm, that physique, that perfection...there was a writhing, twisting mass of ugliness that reared its head...yet no one ever saw it.
Of course they didn't.
He was far too good at hiding it to let them.

//P.S.//: Doing a cleanse on the writing and quality of the story. Thought some updates to the narrative were needed to make it "up to date" with my current writing style. Thought I would lean completely into the themes and dark aspects, so buckle up, guys. No holding back.

Summary
For the longest time, Tarzan had wondered why he was different, unlike any other creature of this forest. He thought maybe the search for answers was beyond his fingertips…then he met Jane.
She was like him, and in her own way, she’d given him a kindness through her words, and bit by bit, she was granting him the knowledge he needed to be of man.
But it wasn’t enough. Despite his efforts, he was of the forest, a wild man hardly human himself, a lowly beast that, no matter how hard he tried, would never be one of them.
The best that he could hope for was that they’d be merciful, and make his end swift.

Summary
Fear and Dread was All He’d Known…
Born in the dark, raised where little light rarely, if ever, reached, the world had always looked like Hell for him. Dash felt inclined, in every way that he could, to try to be anyone else, to deny the world access to the writhing, wriggling anguish that prickled just beneath the surface of his skin.
It was hard to tell how well he was pulling it off, the lie that carried like a perfect song recited over and over, time and time again until even he’d begun to believe it himself. It was his escape from the noise, the thoughts, the emotions that screamed within his head no matter how often he tried to silence them.
But that was just it.
How long did he think he could continue to run from himself? To hide from the truth of his own ruination?
He was almost certain others could see it, the taint of his hands, the ugliness that stained every inch of him, the filth that defined him.
Yet, in a strange sense, he still tried. Tried to live the lie, to deceive himself and others regarding the basic fact of his being.
And that was he was a soiled thing, something used and forsaken.
Something far too wretched to be loved.

Summary
He was Willing to do Anything to See This Through…
Being born to nobility was hardly a mark of true notoriety. It wasn’t enough to possess wealth and honorable blood by proxy, not when the greater testament to birthright claim was through the procurement of status all your own.
Hans had long since grown tired of a life overlooked, not properly given his dues as he’d too often thought in the isolation of his own head and swelling ego, but there was frequently too little he could have done about it. He’d bided his time, watching his chance to stake his claim slip piteously through his pristine fingers due to the order of blood and the distant proximity to the throne that would never be his.
Bitterness surely would have taken him…but opportunity abounds in the far-off sea, where the kingdom of a lonely princess lay, beckoning him.
Hans rejected the idea of delusion, but his could doom and save a dying place like that, rotted on the inside and spreading wide that desolation that swallowed them.
And what better way of ensuring his fame, his infamy, than being the turner of tides?
But there was only the object of claiming it.
And for that, he would do anything.- Words:

He decided to take part in the games to satisfy the dark curiosity that grew inside him concerning everything related to player 456. Summary
The way Gi-hun looks at him in the rearview mirror at that moment—miserable, yet hopeful, like he believes kindness might find him if he just begs the right way—is what makes In-ho break his pattern.
Not the pretty face, or the way the man's voice cracks. Not even the story of his pathetic, unraveling life.
It’s the hope in Gi-hun's eyes.
In-ho is going to enjoy extinguishing it.
