Ok I actually finished reading this a month ago and am barely now bookmarking it because im lazy but fuuuck I loved this fic sooo soososoo much. I love the story it's so good and the characters too ugh I'm so obsessed I've been thinking about it this whole past month since finishing it. The alternate characters and their stories are so good and so interesting while still feeling like the original characters they're based off of, the SG team were great, I loved all the different twists and reveals and I was so excited trying to figure stuff out. One of my poor friends who knows nothing about Stargate had to deal with me telling him about this story and what was happening cause I just needed to tell someone. Love how long it is I got sooo attached to these characters and the story oh John and Dan and Sam Hansen I love you all so dearly I was actually devastated when I finished reading this because I wanted more of them. Started reading this the moment I finished season 3 cause I had it opened beforehand and that happened to be near the end of my semester and wow even though I was drowning in assignments and nearing finals I was taking every moment I wasn't working on projects to read this I was so hooked... Was staying up until 3 in the morning and did barely any studying for my chem final and was cramming assignments last minute just because I was spending more time reading this instead... But lowkey I think it kept me sane during that time I was so slammed. Anyways I am so obsessed with this story and it's characters it feels like real SG-1 stuff and the characters were amazing and I keep thinking about it and I'm definitely going to reread it... probably soon... and if I get the motivation to (and permission) I would sooo try to bind this into a real physical book.. Thank youuuu for this amazing story..

soosososoo good I loved it woww ugh the guilt the sadness the everything Im soo moved and like especially this part
"Daniel hesitated just before he reached the event horizon, a motion half-begun, as if he would turn. Instead, one hand rose, fingers spread, to feel for the very edge of the gateway. Long fingers flattened across the surface and the image of a younger Daniel, his hair too long and his movements too eager, was superimposed across the image. One finger dipped into the non-liquid pool and pulled back out. Teal’c turned and smiled down at his teammate as a quick laugh rose up from Daniel’s lifted head. Carter had both hands clamped over her lips. On either side of the ramp, as if pulled by some invisible string, two airmen slipped their rifles into their left hands and saluted a man who couldn’t see them.
And then Daniel was gone."
SOOO good wow so important to me I sat there and was reading that one bit over and over again picturing it amazing writing..

“Tell me,” Neytiri commands gently.
Jake’s hand squeezes tightly around hers for a brief moment before it relaxes, as if in defeat.
“Afterward…I tried to get Lo’ak to leave me there on the ship,” he tells her, his voice almost at a whisper. “I wanted him to leave me because I didn’t think I deserved to live. I thought I needed to die. I…I wanted to die, Neytiri.”
Her entire body goes cold, and her brain struggles to comprehend exactly what he’s saying. It’s unfathomable to her. Jake wanted to die? Her brave, strong, reckless, big-hearted mate who never gives up on anything ever – not even an eating competition with his children – decided he was done living?
Neytiri stares at his bent head, frozen in shock and confusion and disbelief.
Jake takes another breath. “If Lo’ak hadn’t fought to keep me going, I wouldn’t be here right now.”

Holding the loincloth in place to make sure nothing slips, Jake ducks around some trees before stumbling onto the woman waiting for him like she said she would be, leaning back against a tree trunk.
She straightens when she catches sight of him, her eyes moving up and down his body with a frown.
“Why are you holding it like that?” She asks. “You do not have to worry about it falling.”
Jake shifts back and forth on his feet.
“I couldn’t figure out how to get the ties done. They…go around my tail, right?” He turns to show her, trying not to think about the fact that she’s looking at his bare ass.
“Yes,” she says and when he looks over his shoulder at her, he’s surprised to find her looking almost sympathetic. “You cannot reach?”
Jake shakes his head.
She clicks her tongue, rolling her eyes in exasperation.
“Come.” She gestures for him to move closer. “I will tie them.”
