It’s a love song.
Better yet— A slow dance.
Noticing the shift in him, Katana tilts his head, leaning slightly as he looks toward Hyperlaser, his attention settling fully on him.
“Well?”
“…Well, what?”
“May I have this dance, Hyperlaser?”

Slingshot’s eye twitched. “You do that on purpose.”
Coil’s grin turned smug. “Do what?”
“Piss me off.”
“Only because you look better when you’re annoyed.” Coil grinned. “Your shoulders get all tense and veins pop.”
Slingshot stared at him in utter disbelief.
Coil, for his part, looked deeply pleased with himself.
The air between them tightened until it felt like every word was a form of contact. Not touch, not exactly, but close enough to make both of them aware of their own bodies: the ache in Slingshot’s shoulders after his set, the solid pull of his back, the heat in Coil’s chest from too many reps and too much smirking. The gym around them faded down into background noise, reduced to the distant sound of weights and music and someone cursing at a treadmill.

Slingshot and Coil attend the same gym, where they resolve tension.
