- Scar’s long, brown hair was unbrushed and greasy, tied back into a loose, messy ponytail that trailed over his shoulders. He rubbed at his face with the heel of his palm, letting out a deep breath. His mind felt so foggy- with exhaustion or what, he had no idea. He just wanted to go lay back down, in all honesty. -
Scar isn’t doing great. His parents are always fighting, his brother is never home, and most days, he can’t find the energy to do anything but lie in bed. Stuck in a cycle he doesn’t know how to break, he feels more alone than ever.
But when Bdubs drags him out of the house to meet some of his friends, Scar finds himself in an unexpected place—and face-to-face with a certain Bad Boy who might just understand him better than anyone else ever has.

Summary
It's a classic tale of love: Grian, a mer from the depths of the sea, makes a deal with a sea witch to exchange his voice for a pair of legs and go visit the human whose life he had saved. Only in this case, Grian is more interested in the sea witch than the human.
(If only someone had bothered to tell Scar, the sea witch in question, about this divergence).
