Summary
When the overlands only daughter brings home a talking rabbit the first thing her parents did was faint. The second was to love him.
They didn't understand what their daughter had brought home, they just understood that he wasn't any normal rabbit kit. He was theirs now, and his name was jack.
The Easter bunny was almost never seen by humans, nothing more then a passing glance. It went on this way for ages and he became a hermit whenever it wasn't his season to go out, snapping at other spirits and sprites and whatever creatures decided to mess with him.
All Jack and his sister wanted was to speak to him, another giant rabbit walking on two legs? He just had to see if it meant something! They were the same species right? But the rabbit was always one step ahead, slow enough to be seen, fast enough they couldn’t get a word to make him wait.
Then, everything goes down the drain when a a fun day of skating ends with a hole through the thin ice. Maybe now the Easter bunny will talk to him?

Luigi’s had his soulmarks as long as he can remember, same as everybody else. He never dreamed he’d meet his soulmate after being thrown through a crazy pipe into another world, but fate is funny that way. However, as he's held aloft by magic staring at matching marks on a gold-scaled neck all he hears is Bowser singing Peach’s praises. When Kamek tried to suggest perhaps pursuing one's soulmate over the mushroom princess, Bowser says something callous. Heartbroken and devastated, Luigi’s jaw glues itself shut. After saving both worlds from the koopa king, he starts hiding his marks under turtleneck shirts or scarves, which Mario and his family make fun of him for. He pretends to laugh it off and tries to move on with his life…but the stars have a way of shining through even the darkest clouds.
