Summary
So that’s how Hayden found himself in Shane’s hospital room with Rozanov, JJ, and Shane’s parents, Yuna and David. Shane seemed to have managed to fall asleep despite all of the commotion, his eyes shut like he hadn’t a care in the world, like he didn’t have a concussion and broken collarbone and his archrival wasn’t currently in the room with him. Hayden was thankful for whatever painkillers they had him on to allow him to sleep so soundly.
Rozanov was glancing between the four of them, the doorway, and the single window in the room, his body language guarded. Maybe he was trying to figure out if he could jump out the window and survive a fall from the fourth floor, since they were actively blocking his only other exit out of the room.
“So, you are going to tell us, yes?” JJ said through gritted teeth. “What you were doing with Hollander.”

Yet another fic where Shane high on painkillers terrorizes his loved ones, especially Ilya Rozanov. But even while high, he does pose an important question: is there any reason to hate Ilya, the person, as opposed to Rozanov, the hockey player? Does anyone other than him even know Ilya well enough to really hate him?

Summary
Taking the call off speaker-phone and pushing his glasses up on the crown of his head, David cleared his throat and asked, “Sorry, who is this?” with a furrowed brow and a hand on his hip.
It was silent between the two of them for almost a minute, but David could hear vague sounds of movement on the other side of the call.
“Um. I am a friend. Shane’s friend,” the other man answered with a thin tone, before asking, “Who are you?” He throws the word ‘you’ at David like an accusation.
David couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m Shane’s dad.”
He followed his answer up with, “I’ve been listening to you talk to my son in what sounds like Russian for the last ten minutes, uh…” David pulls back the phone to check the name again, just in case he had somehow misread the contact. Nope. He didn’t. “Lily?”

Or, after Shane, high-on-painkillers, calls Ilya in the hospital and falls asleep shortly after, David shows up and gets to chat with whoever Lily is. David is confused, to say the least.

Summary
Are you supposed to find your closest friends in a group of people who don’t even know who you are? Are you supposed to make fun of your not boyfriend/arch rival to a bunch of strangers? Are you supposed to makeout with said arch rival after a hockey game in front of everybody? No. Is Ilya going to do it anyway? Obviously.

Shane was hurt and Ilya couldn’t be there with him. No one knew that he cared, that his boyfriend was in the hospital, not even Shane’s parents.
OR: Yuna Hollander just wanted to grab some of Shane’s things from his apartment during his hospital stay. She didn't suspect she'd stumble across a home invasion, and that the perpetrator would be Ilya Rozanov.
