Ashveil heads out on a late-night walk to clear his head. An unexpected visitor awaits him, and in the process of reminiscing on what once was, something new blossoms.

He would have been easy to miss if not for his eyes, which were currently burning holes into Ashveil’s skull. He felt himself cracking a smile despite himself.
“Well well, look who we have here. Certainly not the man I was expecting to see just out and about. What's the occasion?”
He doesn't receive an immediate reply, but the swordsman does remove himself from the wall and walk to his side, both falling into step as they continue to walk through the shadowy streets.
“I expected to be waiting a while longer.”

Summary
Saegusa had warned him, to be fair, had told him that solo idols were falling out of style long before he had made his decision. It was a fact he had been aware of for a while, a trend he had hoped would skip over “HiMERU”, with how hard they had worked to keep the name in the public eye, if only to make his life a little easier for the time being, as selfish as that is. But, he had vowed to keep “HiMERU” afloat, no matter the toll it took on him or the time he'd lose in the process; Nothing was as important to him as this.
That didn't make the news any easier to digest.

OR: What started as a simple 5+1 of sleepovers, late night conversations, and the harrowing process of learning to open up and be honest, slowly morphed into more of a Himeru character and relationship study paired with a sprinkling of headcanons throughout.
The RinNikiHime starts very subtly at first, but becomes far more explicitly romantic as things progress! Sorry if that isn’t your cup of tea.

He'd have been content keeping the truth of her father away from his child for the rest of their lives- Until the father came to Mondstat.

Illuga shook his hand lightly. “You’re a good person, Lohen. I’m sorry that I’m prying so much, but you seem like you need to hear it.”
I do? Maybe if you say so, I do need to hear it. Varka had said it many times, but it simply tasted sweeter when the words rolled off Illuga’s tongue. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry that you’re feeling so much for someone like me.
