The last flare of sunlight outside has faded into a spark at the horizon’s edge. Dusk, and the birds have come to roost—Yuuji can hear the clicking and fluttering, the gentle rhythm of their bodies as they settle under the awning outside his window. He stares out the dark glass as he attempts to calm himself, looking for a hint of foot or beak and finding nothing but the city.
It’s been one week since he fled Jujutsu Tech. Not a single person has come to drag him back.

For the young man with raven hair and unsettling eyes, this was a ritual. One that he had regularly practised ever since the day he seemed to have jumped two years into the future in his perspective. The day he found himself unable to recollect the two years he missed.
He wore clothes he never remembered putting on, bore scars he never remembered acquiring, and had fears that seemed to have developed out of nowhere. It was supposed to just be a quick trip to the convenience store.
Even the bag of ramen and potato chips were nowhere to be seen...

"What?" He echoes with palpable confusion.
Julius looks away with a faint tint of pink on his cheeks as Ferris howls with laughter that sends them careening into the floor.

“I–I’m ok!” Coco hollers in reassurance, but Qifrey’s hands have already dropped the herbs they were binding without a second thought, leaving a scatter of tranquileaf sprigs strewn about the counter. The tone of Agott’s voice had sent a hot jolt of protective fear through his insides, his heart leaping to his throat, beating fast. He nearly trips over his skirt as he hustles up the stone steps into the living room.

Kaeya asks the question before he can stop himself. The kid’s grown on him already. “Would you like me to give you some tips on handling a sword? I can train you myself.”
Bennett breaks into a wide grin, “If it’s no trouble then, Sir! But I have to warn you, my luck can be quite a handful.”
Kaeya internally rolls his eyes. The whole bad luck thing sounded like a load of bullshit, but for Bennett’s sake, he waves him off and says to meet him at the Favonius Headquarters in a few days.
Bennett shoots him an enthusiastic thumbs up paired with a grin, and Kaeya can’t help but shoot one back.
