Soundwave is a very strong and independent mech. No one will or has thought otherwise. Soundwave puts up as many walls as he can to reaffirm his strong and capable frame. However, even a mech like himself falls to the praise and assurance of his master.
So when his visor is destroyed, he knows who to run to first for sympathy.
