Azula is returned to the palace two years and a half to the day that she left it. The Sages escort her to the steps as if she’s a child in need of hand-holding, and then leave her there as if an idiot has told them that she can be trusted alone.
She’s left waiting only a moment before the doors open, and there’s the idiot himself.
“Azula,” says Zuzu. Ridiculously, he’s smiling.
More ridiculously, she feels her mouth nearly pull into its mirror. It doesn’t, of course. She has far too much self-control for such a display.

Summary
Two and a half years after the death of Ozai on the Day of Black Sun, life has settled down considerably for Royal wives Azula and Yue.
