**Previously titled "There’s A Lot to Say About Bruno"**
Everyone gathered in the village square to celebrate. The entire place bustled with people and was filled with fantastic food, fast music, and even faster dancing. The very first La Fiesta de Las Velas was being held to honor the return of the Encanto's gift, but Bruno felt like anything but a gift.
His reputation around town hadn’t been good before, and now it was shaky at best. He was still greeted with wary eyes and whispers wherever he went, and constantly felt like he was one misstep away from being vilified again. He didn’t think he could handle all that a second time over.
That was, until he met you.
By your side, Bruno felt like he could accomplish anything.

Summary

Summary
“Long ago, a young girl went with her mother to pick berries for her father who was hard at work. But the forest greeted them with a dark, cold silence, the bushes empty. Yet, determined to find the berries, the rascal broke free from Mother's grasp and vanished into the trees.”
The girl quickly became lost in the maze of the dark forest. Unable to find her way back, she ventured deeper, through thick bushes and past skeletal trees. Eventually, she came upon three lords: a bat, a weaver, and a fish. The three lords gave the girl gifts to protect her along her journey.
“Continuing on, she soon entered the forest's dark heart. Then an Iron Steed appeared, bearing a beautiful, golden gear. The creature said nothing as the girl approached… and snatched what she thought was another gift. The horse grew angry and summoned the other monsters. Terror filled the girl's heart as a wild wind rose about the beasts. Suddenly, a witch appeared-dark, yet regal.”
“Gifts we gave, but more you took,” she snarled. “So more, in turn, is due.” In a blink, the girl was trapped inside a mirror.
That girl was you.

Klaus never got that memo, he was riding a forty minute high on the bathroom floor of a 7-Eleven before most people are even awake for morning coffee. Klaus never got much of anything through the haze of drug-induced inebriation, and brushed most everything strange off as drug residue tap-dancing along his senses like a well-to-do ne'er do well. This time around he can't dismiss the weird as magical drug fairy dust, and it just might be the one thing he needs to get his life in a general direction of the word 'good'.

Gavin Reed's got a job that keeps him quite busy these days and he'd be damned if he had to read another report on that painfully-bright computer screen again. Nines suggests a quick break in the canteen to rest his eyes but instead of taking it easy, Gavin just goes on his phone (because of course he does), grateful for the distraction as his fingers tap away at Candy Crush. He'll have to return to his desk eventually, he knows, but he'll enjoy the peace and quiet for a little while longer.
The hairs on his neck rise in alarm once he feels a pair of eyes watching him from afar and he looks up to meet them, but just as quickly as their gazes connect, they break. The woman averts her eyes immediately, suddenly finding another corner of the precinct very interesting, and Gavin huffs but continues staring even as Tina sits down to take her statement.
Then, hours later when he spots her at a local bar, he can't help but walk up to speak to her.

Steven gets everything from you, Marc thinks irritably to himself. He gets your softness, your indulgence, every bit of your attention when he’s out. He even gets the worst of you - your fears, your insecurities, your tears.
It’s not entirely his fault, to be fair; you had met him first, and to your credit, you’d adjusted to the additional presences of Marc and Khonshu somewhat frighteningly quickly, but you trust Steven implicitly in a way Marc doesn’t think will ever be extended to him.
[This has somehow become a series of stand-alone chapters that aren't entirely reliant on each other.]
