Sure, maybe Roy sometimes catches himself admiring more than just Jamie’s form as they train in the mornings, or standing closer than he needs to after Jamie’s sweat through his scent blocker and his sweet omega scent bleeds through. And, fine, maybe Roy nearly lost his mind at the cloying scent of pre-heat clinging to Jamie during the week he took his annual break from his suppressants, and spent the three days of Jamie’s heat having to remind himself that it would be extremely inappropriate to jog by Jamie’s house just to make sure there were no unsavoury alphas skulking about.

Something broke free and rattled loose in Roy Kent’s heart in Amsterdam. He didn’t know what it was, but he could feel it in there, shaking with every breath and hitting against his ribs and poking his chest at night when he was trying to sleep alone in the bed that felt far too big for him. It settled down a bit when he went to fetch Jamie and found him waiting at the door, bright-eyed and eager.

After being tossed back and forth between Man City and Richmond, Jamie is finally set to start back at AFC Richmond. However, the bridges he burnt before are not easily rebuilt with the team. How does one make up for being a total prick? Simple, work himself to the bone to earn his place and keep his mouth shut so he doesn't give Ted any more reasons to kick his ass to the curb again.
