"You almost ready?"
"Getting impatient?"
"Nah, I love being handcuffed to chairs."
"I know you do. You're a freak like that." Tim rolls his eyes. Slow, dramatic footsteps approach the door. A shudder of anticipation crawls down his spine. "Well, well, well." Jason's voice is rough gravel, modulated into something harsh and mechanical by his mask. "What do we have here?"
Tim cranes his neck, getting a look at the wall of muscle that is the Red Hood leaning against the door frame, arms crossed. The muzzle-style red mask and domino cover his face, but Tim can feel the smoldering leer underneath. He feels his cheeks heat under the scrutiny, shoulders tensing.
Jason steps forward like he's got all the time in the world, head cocked at the sight before him. "How'd such a pretty little bird end up snared in my trap?"

Tim hisses, muscles tensing. Jason freezes, fingers still buried inside of him, and leans back. Tim's face is scrunched, lower lip caught between his teeth. "Did I hurt you?"
"N-no," he says, letting out a deep breath. "Not exactly." His cheeks a dusted pink. His eyelids flutter. "I'm just a little… sore."
"Sore."
He nods. "Inside." Jason blinks. Then laughs. Tim joins him a second later, looking sheepish. Maybe they had overdone last night. Delicately, he pulls his fingers back out. Tim's face scrunches again, but he looks disappointed. "I'm fine, Jay. I still want to-"
Jason rolls off of him, laying alongside him. "Maybe we should take it slow."

The Gotham night was warm, the kind that made kevlar and leather uncomfortable if you let it linger.
Two weeks after Tim's twenty-second birthday—quiet, understated, the way he preferred it—and exactly two weeks before Jason would hit twenty-four. Neither of them had mentioned the dates out loud, but the math hung between them like smoke from a spent shell casing.
They'd crossed paths on patrol near the Narrows, words clipped and professional until they weren't. A shared glance over a rooftop ledge, the city sprawling below in its usual indifferent glitter, and suddenly the adrenaline had nowhere else to go.
Jason landed first, boots heavy on the gravel of the old water tower roof. Tim followed a heartbeat later, lighter, quieter, cape snapping once before he tucked it away. No masks came off.

About ten minutes later, where Jason gets a glass of champagne which Bruce takes from him before he is able to take a sip. After a 'you're too young to drink', they met the most shallow and fake people Jason could have met since he went from poverty to literally being adopted by a billionaire. Does that make him a billionaire too?
"Jason, they are the Drakes." Bruce introduced them and Jason put on his most convincing smile possible and shook hands with the woman.
"Janet Drake, delighted. This is my husband Jack and this is my son, Timothy." Janet released Jason's hand as he shook it and tightened her hold on Tim's shoulder.
Jason notices the woman's disgust at talking to him, even if she doesn't show any hint of disgust, but Jason knows that well.
"Nice to meet you, Jason." Tim smiles at him and Jason's heart jumps.
God... Timothy was the most fucking cute boy he'd ever seen before.

When Alfred cuts off his access to caffeine entirely, Tim makes a desperate, ill-advised decision at 3:42 a.m.: break into Jason Todd’s safe house for coffee.

“Wait.” Tim watched the tension enter his boyfriend’s frame before he turned back around to study Tim with narrowed eyes. “It’s dinner already?” There was a screech as he jumped up from his seat, the legs of the chair scraping across the floor. “Wait,” he repeated, and then, “you love me?”
