Or brushing his long, beautifully silky hair. Or putting some mascara on his already dark eyelashes that fluttered so enchantingly against his cheeks whenever Xiao Chiye sunk his teeth into the back of his neck.
Xiao Chiye knows very well that he should stay away from Shen Zechuan. Their respective factions may cooperate, but there should be no room for trust between them, much less the desperate longing Xiao Chiye feels for him. Rather than do what he should, he chooses to let it consume him.

Heartbeat quickening, he stared into the darkness enshrouding the walkway on the opposite side of the courtyard. The soft glow of the single lantern in his periphery made it all the harder for his eyes to focus, and he couldn’t make out a thing.
The warm air was still. The cicadas still buzzed away, unseen in the night. On the back of Shen Zechuan’s neck, all of his hackles were raised and a shiver ran down his spine. He glanced up to the rooftop, looking for the vague silhouettes of Xiao Chiye’s guards, but came up empty. Something was terribly wrong.
Someone comes for Xiao Chiye. Shen Zechuan doesn’t intend to let them.

The prisoner, bound at the wrists and ankles, twisted in his grip like a pathetic fish out of water. His face, unattractive to begin with, was twisted in a grimace that made him nearly repulsive to look at. “Go to hell!”
That got a chuckle out of Hua Cheng. The prisoner’s bloodshot eyes darted over to him, silently obvious in their question: What the hell are you doing here?
In response, Hua Cheng readjusted himself in his chair, crooking his legs further apart, and reached down to brazenly palm his erection through his pants, holding eye contact all the while. “God, you look hot doing that, baby.”
Hua Cheng can’t control himself when he watches He Xuan do terrible things to his victims.

Summary
Wife, mother, aspiring artist, and closeted lesbian - for Xie Lian, the labels keep tacking on.
