He’s unsure what finally snapped inside him that’s letting him take that wall down. Maybe it’s the fact that his self-esteem is at an all time low, he’s been unemployed for the longest consecutive period of time he’s ever experienced, and he can’t walk down the street without seeing either Mattsson’s or Mencken’s face plastered on a magazine cover.
It’s those two men who have been the cause of his downfall. The cause of every disgusting thought he’s had about himself over the last few weeks.
