Summary
When the unsentimental financial imperative of the NHL sees Shane traded to the Boston Raiders, he and Ilya are thrown into closer extended proximity than ever before. As they adjust to life as teammates, they are forced to contend with the nature of their relationship -and must answer for themselves: is it even a relationship at all?
____Sliding down the wall, Shane hunched over his untied sneakers, shoved on hastily when Coach had called him in for a meeting after morning skate.
“Boston wanted you specifically. I’ve already spoken to their GM. You’re flying this evening or tomorrow morning: I’ll confirm once the paperwork clears.”
“Mom,” Shane managed.
“Oh sweetie. I know, okay. Those fuckers, how dare they do this! Two fucking cups! Now all of a sudden they decide they want a reset and you’re going to fund it.”
Shane put his head between his knees and tried to breathe. God, Boston. They hated him there; it was so far away; he was fucking their captain.

Summary
“Okay, first of all, do you have a partner at all?” Boodram asked.
Ilya frowned. “Yes? I have partner? Why is this needed information?” The second the words were out of his mouth, Ilya regretted them a little, he shouldn't have admitted to that. Sure Boston was aware he had someone, but he never actually confirmed that, just said she was best hook up.
“Alright then, my wife Cassie would like her number”
“Why.”
“Oh for the WAGS groupchat” Upon receiving the confused look, Boodram expanded “Wives and girlfriends chat. It's basically what it sounds like, a chat with all the partners of players. My wife runs it, and wanted to know if you had a partner from add to it”
Or
Shane gets added to the Ottawa WAGS, makes some friends and learns things about himself along the way.

Summary
Ilya knows firsthand that the world isn’t comfortable. It’s loud, bright, demanding, a harsh place in direct opposition to everything he’s recently learned about autism.
Is it so wrong that he wants Shane to feel safe here? To carve out a space where, even if only for a few hours, he doesn’t have to grin and bear anything? He can just be?
Or: Ilya Rozanov has a lot of good ideas. Telling his fuck buddy that he should consider getting an autism diagnosis isn’t one of them.

Summary
Shane never flinched on the ice. Not at chirps, even when the words other players used hit too close to home. Not at hits, even if his whole body had been flattened to the boards and protested against each movement onwards. Not at the lights overhead, nor the flash of cameras around him. Not at the cheers and boos of the crowd, nor the discordant scream of a whistle blowing. It didn’t fade to the background, didn’t quiet when he had the puck, but he got through it. He lived in it. He made it his home. But that was hockey. That bad was so interwoven with the good of it that Shane could hardly call it that anymore. This…this was a different kind of bad.

After his talk and breakup with Rose, Shane decided that he wanted to explore his sexuality with someone who wasn’t Ilya for a change. He went to a man’s apartment in Montreal and left feeling different. He wasn’t sure how, or why, or what to call it. All he knew was that it wasn’t good, and that he didn’t want to look at it. Fortunately or unfortunately for him, he had people in his life who wouldn’t let him disappear, no matter how hard he tried.
