Summary
The city of Yokohama has been plagued by a series of peculiar murders, and to the public's knowledge they ended after the arrest of a culprit who confessed last year. Ranpo Edogawa's interest in the case has fluctuated over time, despite it having already gone to trial. There is just something about it that has continued to bother him. Ranpo, along with his co-investigator and business partner, Yosano Akiko, run their own private investigations agency. Business is good but business is also boring, until something very interesting gets brought into Ranpo's office, and he finds himself up front and center to witness the (second) worst serial killer the city has seen. When an appealing but shady and virtually unknown investigator is brought onto the case, things get even more complicated.
