    Fiyero did not become the Scarecrow, but went missing after the cornfield. After faking her own death, Elphaba flees to the Badlands alone, inhabiting an abandoned old fortress. After weeks of mourning and depression over everything she lost and failing at everything she wanted, Elphaba decides to erase her memories, leaving behind only the Wicked Witch, and a fight she lost.

    Everyday for the last 3 years was the same, it very rarely strayed from the routine. Her therapist had stated a routine, “provides structure and consistency in daily life, which can lead to reduced stress, improved focus, better decision-making, increased feelings of control, and overall enhanced mental and physical well-being” and blah-blah-blah. Elphaba zoned out after a while because it was always the same thing, over and over and over again.

    So here she was running as fast as she could down the same path she always took, in the same park she always ran in. Nothing new, nothing strayed from the routine, until…

    Galinda Upland

     

    And just like that, her routine was ruined.

    Elphaba, a renowned artist (singer) and queer icon, is still heartbroken over her past relationship with the famous artist/singer Galinda Upland. However, when she unexpectedly runs into Galinda—who is now with Fiyero, an actor and dancer—Elphaba is forced to confront her lingering feelings and move on. To help maintain her public image and ease the transition, her manager arranges a fake relationship with a woman, setting Elphaba on a journey of healing, self-discovery, and romance.

    A retelling of Wicked that utilizes the film/musical's story and characters, while also incorporating certain topics and elements from the novel that didn't make it into the stage show. The book contains such interesting ideas, characters, and themes, and I want to explore them with the musical's setting in this in-depth analysis of its characters and their dynamics. A heavy focus on Elphaba, Galinda, and (eventually) Fiyero.

    Will eventually become very Thropple oriented, but I won't tag it as such (or as Galinda/Fiyero or Elphaba/Fiyero) until I bring him into the mix directly as to not mistag before he comes into the story.

    As of November 2025, I hope to update this story soon.
