Summary
20 years after the end of the main series, Sunagakure and Konohagakure are at war. And as a circumstance of their past relations, Gaara, Kankuro, Temari, Shikamaru and Naruto find themselves affected, damaged, and potentially ruined by it.
A War fic, but focuses on how characters deal with a war instead of the war itself. Multitude of themes. Angst, Anger, Revenge, Forgiveness, Loss, Death, and Hope are the major ones. There WILL BE Major character deaths, so if you're not into that sort of thing you might not want to read. Also will be fairly long. Reviews are welcome.

Summary

Summary
Kyouka squeezes Momo’s hand tighter. Momo squeezes back all the same.
Their fingers slot together like puzzle pieces. Momo’s hand is slightly larger, but it’s softer, and nothing like Kyouka’s own. Hers are littered with callouses and scars—badges of her childhood in years past. Despite that, they complete each other. Call it early, or forward, or self-indulgent, but by that metric Kyouka could argue that they are like puzzle pieces as well. Oftentimes they’re referred to as opposites, and while they may be cut into different shapes or harbor different colors on the surface, they’re still two parts of the same whole.
She relishes in the stability that Momo’s hand provides.
Or, five times Momo offers her hand to Kyouka, and the one time Kyouka finally extends hers to Momo.
