Summary
Kabru and Mithrun both work long hours in emergency medicine, where nights can get lonely. After an unexpected night together, the two fall into a friends-with-benefits arrangement where Dr. Kerensil shows up at Kabru’s door whenever he wants companionship, offering what he believes is the only thing anyone could want from him in return. But neither of them are as detached as they pretend to be, and as with most arrangements built on avoidance, someone always ends up wanting more.
