Summary
Link and Zelda are twins born into the Hylian Royal Family during an Era of Peace. Long ago was the Age of Heroes- Legends and Fairy Tales rarely spoken of. Link, however, struggles with his identity growing up, disliking the life of a Prince and being the heir to the throne.
However, signs from Ancient Prophecies and Legends make themselves known again, and the Royal Twins are believed to be the Chosen Hero and Priestess of past Legends. Mysteriously, before Link and Zelda can properly begin, they're separated by a divine entity into a foreign world- Teyvat- where no one knows who they are, or know of Hyrule.
Thus, Link sets out on a journey to find her true self, to develop her character, to befriend Teyvat's people, to make new connections, to harness control over the Seven Elements of Teyvat, to live the life she's desired most...
... and to find her missing twin sister Zelda, whom she holds dearly to her heart. Link seeks out the Seven Archons across the Seven Nations of Teyvat, believing these living gods have the answers she seeks.
Hyrule, however, suffers in their absence. It goes on, existing... and forging a connection to Teyvat, unbeknownst to all.

Summary
An ancient world, as old as creation, becomes one with a world that, while not equally ancient, exists closely to it and it's fondations. Similarities between the two and their core laws are comparable, and the methods the divine created both aren't as starkly different as believed by each world's inhabitants and gods.
A pair of twins from the oldest of world's are chosen, to fulfill an ancient prophecy that their world and gods let become an endless cycle. The younger world's gods saw this as an opportunity, and sought to take advantage of this prophecy. The twins not only bore the blood and powers of an ancient, powerful goddess, but one held the spirit of heroes who were chosen by prophecy before.
The hatred of the Fates that weren't chosen to pass fuel the Abyss. Both world's share this phenomenon, despite prominent presence in one over the other. With time and preparation, the Abyss and Divine Authority of both worlds are tested, and the barriers between both are torn apart, forcing them to become one.
The chosen twins have roles in this grand scheme. The One not chosen by fate, however, refuses to play Her part, whilst the Other plays Her part how She desires.
