It's disappointing, and annoying that he can know someone for such a short amount of time and have them affect him so much. He feels like there's a tugging in his chest that won't go away, but following it is leading him in circles. There's no magical entity leading him to his destiny anymore: that's been and gone, done and dusted. He needs to find his own way now.

It was always the same dream. Merlin walked down a stony path at the light of the torches and he saw a golden snake slytherin around his ankles and then preceding him, he turned the corner only to see the snake shedding his golden skin for a black-coal one with big red ruby eyes. A maiden was crunched before the snake her hand offered the beast and she seemed enchanted by the animal as it wrapped itself around her wrist, her arm and her neck.
He had had that dream often enough to know it was always followed by another in which the same maiden was on her knees on the ground, her snake-like eyes crazed as she cried and begged and cursed somebody else who stood before her. It was a warrior a warrior whom he had never seen clearly, the only thing he knew that he warrior was lithe and graceful and that long blond tresses reflected the sun and the gold of the chest-plate, the warrior had no sword but was about to serve the final blow anyway. He always tried to stop the warrior, screaming but he was never heard then as the snow started to fall on the ground a voice would call his name in mock-nuisance. Merlin

I was gutted by season 8 of Game of Thrones. I decided to write a fanfic about it, imagining if Daenerys had a vision about all that was to come. I chose her because I feel like, as badly wrecked as other characters were in S8, she really got it the worst and had the most losses. And she had such a dream before and Daenys Targaryen dreamed of the Doom of Valyria. This is mostly her POV, a few others. I also added things here and there because I would have liked to see the scenes (like why did Arya and Daenerys not have one conversation? I was annoyed by that and so they will meet in this fic). Mostly show canon unless additional info or characters are needed. Starts at the beginning of S7, some scenes start out like the ones in the show but then change, because if Dany knows from her dream that some act will bring disaster she’ll do something else. Feedback is deeply appreciated and more than welcome. Please be as gentle as you can! If you hate Daenerys you will not like this story. But I’m trying to be gentle with all the characters. Well, most of them. Trying to ascribe good motives as much as possible. I do not own these characters or story. Everything here belongs to George R.R. Martin, D.B. Weiss, David Benioff, HBO.

It’s an unnecessary show, but McCree lets the kid have it, lets out a laugh before his hand twitches to go for Peacemaker and then there’s some kind of shink noise like metal flipping into open air. It takes Jesse a second to realize he’s got a knife at his throat, dragging slow against skin every time he breathes -- takes a second even longer to realize it’s coming from the kid’s goddamn foot.
McCree swallows hard, and there’s that smile again, full-body and something else.
“Boy howdy,” McCree half-whistles, half exhales, lets his eyes steady on the blade -- small and sleek and entirely lethal -- right there, built into the ankle of the suit. “You sure are something else, kid.”

Winston's made the recall announcement. To his delight most members have agreed to come back but he's unable to contact Genji who has no connections to the outside world anymore.
He gives McCree his first new missions: trek up the reclusive Shambali Monastery to try and convince Genji to rejoin Overwatch in person.
It seems like an futile endeavor but at least McCree'll get a nice vacation.
