Surge deals with a controlling partner, fellow agents who think they're better than her(they are for the record), a cat having a mid-life crisis, having required visits with her dad(who sucks btw), a dangerous criminal with an annoyingly attractive smile, and-oh! yeah! An old school crime boss just let out of prison.

No longer merely a weapon or a cure, Shadow has found a new life and a new purpose.
