Taking a step back, Suzuki raised his hands, a ward against whatever had taken hold of Sugiki and replaced him with a pod person. “Alright, stop.”
After a half second’s delay, Sugiki’s gaze snapped up from where it had settled on the floor. A questioning expression, sour with annoyance, settled on his mouth. Sunlight, pouring through the high windows of his studio and bouncing off the mirrors in every direction, slashed across his face. Eyes a little red, he squinted against it. “What’s wrong now?”
“You’re dancing like shit,” Suzuki said.
Suzuki annoys Sugiki into revealing why he’s so bad at his job today.
