Summary
Nikita arrives in the coastal town of Bayside with only a suitcase and the job he was hired for. It’s a nice enough town with neat sidewalks lined with seasonal flowers, palm trees and streetlamps alternating down the quiet, well-kept roads. It’s a little unsettling to Nikita just how neat and tidy it all is. He easily sticks out in his dark jeans and leather jacket, a dark mark on the pristine cleanliness of the town.
He hopes it will be a quick and simple job.
But it's not.

Summary
Winter is Steven’s favorite time of year. The crisp, dry air and the promise of snow always around the corner. The mountain just north of his small town is always topped with the stuff, its peak sometimes hidden above the clouds. He loves to hike the paths on that mountain, dashing through whatever snow hasn’t melted off, feeling the chill on his fur and nose and the tips of his ears.
Winter is Victor’s favorite time of year. The solitude of it, the echoing quiet after a heavy snow, the warmth of a crackling fire, of sitting by the hearth and reading a good book. He finds peace in it. It’s why he built his cabin so many years ago and made the mountain his home.
