They’re both staring at the ceiling now, laying side by side on the bed with about half a foot between them, listening to the hum of the vent. Maybe Mika’s still processing, honestly Jules is too. It’s like the ground underneath her feet tilted to the side and she’s still falling through whatever void she was dumped into.
It’s more than she knows how to deal with. And it’s not what Mika signed up for.
