“You have to go in today?” Johnny asks quietly, like he doesn’t know—like he hasn’t been counting down the minutes until they’d finally have an entire day to waste lying in bed wrapped up in each another. Daniel smiles.
“Nah,” he hums, nuzzling against his neck. “I’m good to stay right here.”
“Thank God.” Daniel’s responding laugh makes his insides feel all warm and his cheeks burn, but he’s still pretty damn relaxed, so he’ll let it slide. “You have any plans for the day, Newark?”
Daniel pulls back to grin at him, sly, devious, and for a brief moment he looks every bit his teenage self. He runs a hand along Johnny’s chest and Johnny shudders, skin pebbling at the touch. “I’ve got a few ideas.”

His face lights up, enthusiastic but in an almost shy way: a budding hope restrained out of caution. “Weekend before Christmas, my ma would take the kids and we’d cook dinner, then stay up all night wrapping the kids’ presents. Sometimes we’d watch a movie or something afterward.”
Johnny blinks, mind struggling to connect the dots. “What’s this all got to do with me?”
“Do you wanna come over for dinner this weekend? Maybe wrap a couple presents?” He asks, the words tumbling from his lips fast but precise, like he’s burning to get them out but wants to make sure he gets them right. “Since we’re both gonna be alone and everything.”
(Or: Upon discovering that they're both going to be alone the weekend before Christmas, Daniel invites Johnny over for dinner and some holiday shenanigans).

For once, Johnny’s life is going pretty damn great. Things with Robby are looking up, he finally got a four-star review on Uber—"van smelled like beer but the driver was such a himbo idgaf”—and despite the piece of him still reeling from the tournament loss, having a break from all the karate drama has him feeling almost settled.
So of course a hot, mouthy, Jersey-sized piece of that drama has to show up on his doorstep.

Day 31 - Loud Sex
Johnny is loud. There's no getting around that fact. For someone who spends a good portion of his time shouting "Quiet!" Daniel sometimes thinks he doesn't really know the meaning of the word. That's not to say he doesn't enjoy him being loud, but it does tend to lead to some interesting situations for them and plenty of embarrassment for Daniel.
