Sabo had barely survived after recalling his memories and finding out that Ace had died at Marineford. Finding Luffy, he had sworn a blood oath towards Ace to keep him safe; only Luffy died in the war against the World Government. Or was currently dying in Sabo’s arms. The White glow of his brother’s fruit was fighting to keep Luffy alive and it was losing. Closing his eyes, Sabo prayed for this to not be real; but when he opened his eyes, instead of seeing Luffy in his arms he finds both of his brothers holding out their hands to him. In which an invisible force sends Sabo back to when his family was whole. Now how to keep it that way?

When Sabo woke he was in the forest and it was night time, panic surged through him as he jolted up, hands forming into claws only to pause when he caught sight of Ace glaring at him from across the fire. Relief flooded him immediately to see his twin, even if he was angry. “Ace!? You scared me! What's happened? Why are you here?”
“Why am I here?” Ace asked in disbelief. “Oh I don't know Portgas Sabo, why don’t you tell me?”
“… you talked to Luffy…” Sabo said with a pained wince.

Summary
Bartholomew Kuma's plan was to send the Straw Hats where they could get stronger, only, instead of sending Usopp to the island of plants and Luffy to the island of a fellow Warlord; he made the quick decision to send the two to an Emperor of the Seas who could help them persevere.
However, Kuma didn't take into the fact that Shanks would be heading towards a war, a war that hopefully wouldn't even get a chance to begin.

He’d headed for the gator infested rivers mostly to be able to give his parents some kind of a challenge. They’d already decided to stay longer than planned and had even said they wanted to hunt with him! He didn’t want them to get bored and decide to leave sooner after all so he picked something he could only do with someone strong, someone he trusted to save him if he fell in.
