Jhin doesn’t even have the title of first wife, or called a wife at all. Because that implies circumstances that were beyond Jhin’s station, that he had circumstances to concern himself with.
Instead, Jhin was no better than any common whore. Koyehn was no better than Tuula.
And perhaps, that was why the thought was fleeting, to have circumstances to concern one with was a privilege beyond what Jhin could afford.

Wet lips pressed against Jhin’s neck, teeth grazing the skin as Jhin kept eye contact with Hwei.

Jhin could almost imagine that the lips on her neck were Hwei's, and that Hwei was on her lap, a leg over her own, lost between the throng of warm bodies and alcohol.
Was the artist flushed? Was she flustered to see such a blatant, wanton display between the two women? Or was she aroused, wanting to be caught between the two herself?

"Jhin" has always felt disconnected from others. From childhood to now, he felt a distance between himself and other human beings. He never understood what was different, and had long given up on trying to be a "human" like the rest of them. He was simply going through the motions, pretending to be like something he couldn't fathom to ever be. Honestly, there wasn't any reason to be a "real" human anyway.
Until he met Hwei.

Even if the boss is dead, Satomi is half sure Kyouji won’t remember his promise to quit. He never really even made a promise, it was nothing but speculation. And Satomi is not here for that anyway, he has already begged Kyouji enough times.
He just wants to see Kyouji one more time, to get him out of his system. This one last song, and they’ll both be free to live their lives however they choose. Satomi will be able to go back to normalcy, for good.
Another reunion, 14 years later.
