Russell has a terrible habit of lying through his teeth. David has the unique skill of seeing right through him.
Russell is a transfer student at RBU, and though it is his first year, he has enough credits to be considered a Junior. Juniors, conveniently, do not need APs. If he were a betting man, Russell would have put money down on the certainty of him flying through his remaining years at RBU essentially scot-free. But when roommate troubles and past trauma begin to bubble over, he isn't so sure he can manage entirely alone.
David has a keen eye for people in need of help, and an ear for picking up on lies. When he meets a boy so rigid in his own body, he fears he'll break, he can't help the curiosity forming. Russell is essentially a Psych students dream case study. It turns out that trauma is much different in reality than it is on paper, but he's determined to put in the effort to help Russell see the world in a better light.
