Summary
“Oh, I’m genderfluid!” Artemis said simply, which only confused Steve more. “It means I feel masculine some days, androgynous others, and sometimes feminine.” He explained more.
“Alright, that makes sense.” Steve said, though it did take a couple more hours to completely compute in his mind.
And when it did, he had some questions for himself.
Or; Steve figured some things out.

Summary
“Thank you,” is what she blurts, and Eddie pulls back.
“Why?” He asks, and it’s so genuine that Steve can’t help but laugh.
“You… You helped me so- so much. I wouldn’t- I’d have never- look at me,” She says, barely believing herself.
“I just can’t… I can’t believe I’ve ended up with someone as- as wonderful as you are,” She says, after a beat. “You’re perfect- I- I love you.”(steve is the mom friend. he's not sure how much of it's a joke, anymore. he stares at himself in the mirror and thinks of his mother, of who he wants to be- and maybe the two overlap more than he'd like to admit. a continuation of "L is for linoleum," but you don't have to have read that to understand this)

Summary
"He told her about this pull he’s always had towards pretty things. Not just because he likes pretty girls, but because he wants to be pretty like them. He wants the skirts that move when he walks and flows around him, and the makeup that he can change everyday to whatever mood he's feeling. The nail polish, not so much, but he had liked it once, maybe he could again. He doesn't want it all the time, but he wants it enough that he knows it's not the norm."
or, Steve likes pretty things, wants to be a pretty thing, but Eddie thinks he's already there.

Eddie Munson is transgender. The only person who knows this is his uncle, Wayne, but if it ever got out, he's certain his life would be over. He knows where and when he lives is not a safe place - not for people like him.
Steve Harrington doesn't get gender. He's always been a boy, and now he's a man. But when he's finally taught things can be more then that, it gets a little more complicated.
(((Disclaimer: If you don't like this premise or these headcanons, feel free to skip out on this one! No hate pls and no transphobia. Ty <333)))

Summary
His feet carry him to his mothers vanity where it sits, staged and untouched. He looks over the bottles and pots of creme that are written in languages he doesn't know. French maybe? Maybe they're all different even, he really doesn't know…
He flicks on the globe lights that surround the mirror and he flinches when they flash brightly onto him.
His reflection looks back at him and he finds himself falling heavily onto the cushion of the vanity chair. He sits tall and turns his face side to side, letting the light shift over his hair and face as he analyzes. He pulls his hair back out of his face and flinches a little as his jawline becomes more pronounced, his eyebrows broader, his cheeks sharper. His fathers face stares back at him.
