Many cookies were put into this oven. Cookies with the sweetest of doughs. Cookies with the sourest of doughs. Cookies with decades of experience. Cookies who had only taken their first steps. Cookies of high birth. Cookies of low birth. Magic Cookies. Healer Cookies. All those cookies and many more arrived in the oven either by being dropped in from above or were transported in the form of powder in tubes connected to the oven. All the remnants of those cookies converged to create the cookie forming in the center of the oven.
The Ultimate Cookie.
“Who are you?”
“My name’s Gingerbrave!” A simple name for an equally simple cookie. “What’s yours?”

He doesn't startle when the voices reach him — it's not like he'd been living as an unseen ghost, powerless and unable to interact with the world ever since sort-of-escaping the maddening silence of the silver tree, only recently having managed to acquire — hijack a cult and trick them into building — a body for himself.
He doesn't startle, because he is the great, even if currently not all powerful, Shadow Milk Cookie, feared Beast and master of deceit!
He would like to know why there are a bunch of kids traipsing through the woods with no adult supervision though — drawbacks of no longer being all knowing and all.

Or, Shadow Milk Cookie escapes early, even if with only a fraction of his power, managing to slip out of the tree before White Lily seals it back up — this changes him just as much as it changes the future.

Summary
Across the countless timelines that weave together the universe, some worlds brush against each other, creating once-in-a-lifetime impossibilities.
Gingerbrave has lived a long time, travelling across his world with a Soul Jam and a helping hand outstretched. Since the end of the Dark Flour War, he has helped whoever needed him, carried what no one else could, and taught himself how to keep a careful distance from the friends beginning to reach for him.
It is safer that way.
At least, it is supposed to be.
When unknown magic tears through his Soul Jam and pulls him out of his own world, Gingerbrave falls into another, familiar yet strange. There, White Lily Cookie and her friends find a lost Cookie who looks far too much like someone they have been searching for, carrying a Soul Jam unlike anything they have ever seen.
All they want is to help him get home.
But fear travel easily between worlds, old habits die hard, and something ancient and terrible waits out in the forest.
The way home may be closer than anyone realizes, but first they must untangle the web ahead of them.
