Summary
A young woman from a pre-neolithic society is accidentally whisked away to another world entirely during a raid on a research lab run by alien invaders. Stranded with no friends, badly injured, and no idea where home even *is,* she’s forced to live off the land and learn how to survive in this strange and hostile world full of yet more aliens. She will be forced to adapt and confront new truths as alien to her as she is to her new home, seeking friends and new foundations.
There’s only one slight problem, though.
She’s not trapped in this world with them. They’re trapped in this world with *her.*
Scion of Hunger is is a tale of false foundations, making mistakes, and living with them, rather than by them. The protagonist is a flawed character with great potential thrown into a new experience she must learn to adapt to, no matter how many times she stumbles, falls, and hurts those around her. Those mistakes and the lessons extracted from them are the central premise and promise of this story, and I can unfortunately guarantee that this story won’t be for everyone.

Her deeds are as legendary as her age and fortitude, but the passing of time has not been kind to her. In her advanced age she has become reclusive and sinister rumors abound from her political enemies, and this lowly janitor is about to learn the truth.

This is a deeply dark piece where I had set out to depict a truly disgustingly horrifying situation. Reader discretion is absolutely advised. This specific 'entry' takes place within a larger literary setting I have created, and is specifically far in the future of its first book, 'Scion of Hunger,' which can be found here on AO3.
