"I'm leaving," John declared, standing up indignantly and preparing to "disappear" from the room at Ringo's antics.
"No, wait!" And Ringo grabbed him by his right wrist. John didn't even resist, allowing himself to be handled like a feather by Ringo.
And now he was enveloped in Ringo's arms in an endearing hug, cuddling the way a child cuddles with a teddy bear, and Ringo was just that—a comforting zone, apart from the lack of security, where people wounded in a war could take refuge, victorious in remaining protected.
Ringo placed his left hand in John's reddish-brown hair, a remarkably powerful movement that revealed a vulnerable side of John.
"Are you going to let me finish?" John asked, hiding his face in Ringo's neck.
"No," Ringo replied sweetly. John wanted to laugh.
"That's it, you're not sleeping with me tonight. I forbid you from seeing our kids," — and the 'kids' were, of course, their adorable cats. They weren't referring to human children just yet.
"You'll make Elvis cry..."
"He'll understand. After all, his dad is silly."
"Hm..."
