The aftermath of Danny's parents finding out who he is. And a supportive sibling. Some hurt and lots of comfort.

Summary
It wasn’t clear how exactly it happened. The multiverse is a vast space, filled with movements and rules like currents in a river. Some had been given names in some places, like time and space and gravity. Some of these currents weren’t graced with names. As orderly as this system was, it was just as chaotic.
So, when in two universes in the end-times of humankind two beings fell, suspended and dragged by gravity, a vital error occurred. For a single fraction, spacetime did not care that one was a human child and the other a cat. It did not care that the humankind of their world, while in similar situations was a very different status of alive or dead. It also did not care that these were two distinctly different universes.
OR
Sometimes spacetime messes up and drops a child in the underground robo-city and a cat in the underground monster-city. It happens. Shenanigans ensue~

Summary
Three years after the probes carrying Taumoeba and Dr. Ryland Grace's final message arrive on Earth, humanity launches an interstellar spaceship with a brand new mission. Thirty-six crew members (including two graduates of a certain San Franciscan junior high school) travel to the star 40-Eridani to make friendly contact with the Eridians and bring them the alien life form from Tau Ceti-E that can save their star if Dr. Grace's sacrifice failed.
Grace, now fifty-seven years old, is just trying to balance his life as a teacher while no longer being the only human on the planet anymore. It's a big adjustment, but Rocky and the Terra's Grace crew are going to make sure he's well taken care of.

Summary
After saving Grace and nearly dying in an alien atmosphere, Rocky lays an egg before going dormant.
Turns out being isolated for years and then nearly dying will force biological imperatives onto injured Eridians, and this one leaves Ryland Grace utterly baffled.
Aren't Eridians supposed to lay eggs in clutches? Only fused eggs are supposed to be viable, but when Grace accidentally touches the egg with his bare skin while trying to save it, that's apparently all the genetic fusion required for life to begin.
Ryland Grace skips a few steps when it comes to making a baby, and I test the limits of Eridian biology.

Summary
The Eridian thrills a high sound that doesn’t get picked up by the translator which means that it has no clear meaning. Like when a human gasps or sucks in a deep breath. It actually sounds a little like that. When they notice that I’m staring straight at them they scramble back into their hiding spot and hold very still.
A child, I realize with a start.
That’s a child!
“Hey,” I call and the kid squeaks again. I was about to get to my feet but abort the movement and crawl closer on my hands and knees until I'm inches away from the xenonite wall. I wait and it takes me much too long to realize that they don’t have to peek around the corner to see if I’m still there.
“Hey there,” I try again, my voice low and calm. It’s my teacher voice, the one I use for shy and scared students.
Used.
The fact that I haven’t had to use it for years and it still comes to me automatically almost knocks the air out of my lungs but this is not about me, it’s about making sure the little pebble doesn’t die of fright from the scary alien. “Hi, I’m Grace. It’s alright, you don’t have to be scared.”
