Summary
When Thorin encounters Bilbo at Bag End, he recognizes the young hobbit immediately the same hobbit he'd slept with years ago in Hobbiton, a violation of everything dwarf culture holds sacred. Thorin's guilt consumes him.
As he showers Bilbo with gifts and formal attention in an attempt to honor him, Bilbo interprets each gesture as an insult. Neither understands the other's customs.

As snow buries the lonely mountain and the halls grow warm with hearthfires, Bilbo Baggins becomes stranger by the day; sleeping at odd hours, eating enough for three grown dwarves, and curling ever closer to Thorin at every opportunity.
This convinces the company that something is terribly wrong with their hobbit.

Summary
There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time to update.
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.

Summary
The fire crackled low in the camp as the Company of Thorin Oakenshield settled in for a damp evening in the Wild. The day had been long, the ponies were weary, and the stew was thin. Bilbo Baggins, shivering slightly under his traveling cloak, was attempting to balance a wooden bowl of broth on his knee while adjusting his seat on a particularly jagged rock.
A sudden slip of the hand, a muttered gasp, and a splash of boiling-hot liquid landed squarely on Bilbo’s thigh

"Osh'ra kaza-dhumal, baggins-shat!"The words cut through the night like a whip. They were gutteral, sharp, and flowed with a strange, rhythmic staccato that sounded nothing like the soft, melodic tones of the Common Tongue or the melodic trills of Elvish. It sounded old,older than the Shire, rooted in the deep earth and the rustle of ancient roots.
The camp went silent. Dwalin’s hand froze on his whetstone. Thorin looked up from his map. Ori and Balin, who were mid-discussion about the lineage of the Iron Hills, stared at the Hobbit with wide, unblinking eyes.

Hobbitish as a secret language.
Very fetishistic (I mean in the obsesively worshipful meaning) way of descriping language. I don't agree with decribing living languages in such a manner, but this being a conlang it's completely fine. Also I'd assume this is from the Dwarves' point of view, so no wonder it is described as it is. No marks against the writer: this is a good fic, completely mo chupán tae!!!!*
Also the phrase "don't die, you stubborn weed." is brilliant, I'd like to borrow it!
*purposefully badly written Irish phrase there. I mean: taitníonn na teangacha liom!

Blue eyes, crystal clear, hold Hob's in wrought attention. He's blanketed in a warm jumper- black, of course, considering it belongs to his significant other. Dream doesn't necessarily have a smell, but he swears there is the faintest whiff of ozone, and the scent of a forest, soaked after a rainstorm. Speaking of the storm, the one raging outside is the exact reason they sit on Hob's worn sofa, curled together, Dream's presence a safe fortress where the pain still filters through.
Hob has a chronic pain flare up, Dream/ Meowpheus provides comfort. For Day 4 of belated Sadman week! (Prompt; Ice-Cream, Eye Contact, Blood)

Summary
The journey to Erebor was a grueling affair, marked by blisters, rain, and the constant threat of being eaten. But for Bilbo Baggins, the greatest challenge wasn't the Orcs, it was the sheer logistical nightmare of being a Hobbit in a company of Dwarves who knew absolutely nothing about Hobbit physiology.
Most folk in Middle-earth knew that Hobbits had large, hairy feet. Some knew they had a penchant for seven meals a day. But very few knew about the ears, and almost no one outside the Shire knew about the tails.
