Summary
"Despite it all— despite the long hours, mind-breaking nightmares, and irreversible psychological damage— the Doorman had reached the one-year mark of his employment."
The Doorman's one-year job-iversary finally comes around, and the neighbors want to celebrate and give him their thanks. Nacha orchestrates an all-building party, but not everything is as it appears. A Doppelganger breaks into the building, and has taken on the appearance of one of the neighbors. The neighbors must determine who the Doppelganger is before curfew ends-- and before the Doppelganger can strike again.
Note (3/5/26): I do plan to finish this eventually, I just need to lock in and finish high school 😭 Thank you so much to everyone who has read this so far, hopefully there will be more in the future!

“What’d you ask Father Christmas for this year?” Ralph joked.
“I hate Father Christmas. Haven’t asked him for anything since I was nine.”
“God, what has Saint Nick ever done to you?” Ralph chuckled.
Roger screwed his face into a scowl.

“Four years.” The Choir jumped at Jack’s voice, tight with anger yet surprisingly steady. “Four years we’ve been on this God-forsaken island. We hunt, we make offerings to The Beast, but what for? Not a damn thing has changed since the Blaze.”
He stood, and his painted face hovered above the fire like a dismembered apparition. “And it’s because of Ralph,” he continued, spitting out the former chief’s name like poison. “You’re all scared of him, of his stupid tribe of outgrown littluns. Don’t look shocked— I know you know he’s alive. But he won’t be for long.”
A ripple passed through the Choir. “Are you saying we’re gonna start up the hunt again?” Henry asked, leaning forward.
“We’ve gotta,” Jack replied. “Three years is enough of a break for that buffoon. He’s gonna remember fear. And he’s gonna remember who causes it."
