Summary
The smell of charred flesh was nothing new to Shadow. Uncommon, perhaps, but not foreign. Which in many ways made Shadow nervous; he could only recall a handful of times where he ever encountered burning flesh, but this smell struck at something deeper. In some respects, Shadow was terrified of what he could have encountered to leave such an impression.
Though, surely, he was more terrified by the way his mouth watered at the stench.
