For a moment, Thomas thinks the swooping feeling in his stomach is due to the kiss. But when Janus pulls back with a soft hum, he opens his eyes to find the party has disappeared around them. Instead, they stand alone in the center of Janus's room; right at the foot of a truly luxurious four poster bed. Thomas chokes back a giggle.
Janus blushes all the way to the tips of his ears. "I definitely meant to do that." He says, staring wide-eyed.

Janus is asleep next to him, snoring faintly. He's wrapped himself in one of the thermal comforters like a burrito, save one arm curled loosely around a lump of blanket. He has his face half smushed into the pillow, hair curling limply across his forehead, a crease under his eye from sleeping so deeply. He appears to be drooling.
He is also the most beautiful thing Virgil has ever seen.

Summary
Clearly, Grace’s refusal to engage with Simon’s outwardly destructive behavior had given Simon an excuse to turn that destructive behavior inwards.
The beam of his flashlight swept across the sandy beach, illuminating the rolling waves. The distant hum of the wave machine combined with the sound of water crashing was just enough of a comfort to make Grace want to close his eyes and go back to sleep right there.
But he couldn’t, not without Simon at his back.

For the first time in a while, Grace wakes up alone. Simon is nowhere to be found.

Colt feels like a blood vessel is about to pop in his head. He is dangerously close to snapping. Jody doesn't seem to be doing any better; her delicate features are completely contorted into a deep scowl. Actually, "scowl" is putting it mildly—he has never seen his fiancée this downright furious before.
"What do you mean you've lost our Ryland?!" Jody's voice skyrockets, not only startling Colt—who is standing right next to her—but probably blowing out his eardrum in the process. "We just brought him in for an update! What exactly are you trying to imply?!"
The target of all this yelling, Eva Stratt, the manager of the CyberLife branch in California, doesn't even flinch at Jody's escalating outrage.
"As I was explaining, Mr. Seavers... unfortunately, we have discovered that your ST-12011 model android, Ryland, is no longer on the premises."
