“You didn’t do anything, Buck,” Eddie replied quietly as he exhaled and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Then what’s wrong? Why won’t you talk to me? Why won’t you look at me? I try to reach out, emotionally and physically and you just- exactly! You just flinched! You won’t even let me put my hand on your shoulder! It’s like I’m diseased or something and I just want to know why! Why-”
“Because I’m in love with you Buck!,” Eddie yelled, throwing his hands up in frustration.
Silence. Eddie didn’t think he had ever heard silence quite this loud.
“You’re in love with me?,” Buck asked slowly, as if he was savoring every individual word. “That’s it? That’s the problem?”
“Yes, that’s the problem!”
Eddie watched a multitude of emotions flicker over Buck’s face before he schooled his expression as he made up his mind about something.

"Eddie nodded, opening the envelope, expecting a letter for the baby, health information, or simply a name to call the infant. What he found was none of those things. Eddie read the note as he ascended the stairs into the loft, pausing at the top, unsure of the correct course of action to come next. Ultimately, he decided that what came next couldn’t be his choice, and that the letter was addressed to only one person. “Buck?” Eddie called out, moving closer to the kitchen. He couldn’t find the words to continue, so when Buck looked up, Eddie just held out the letter."
