Summary
Fourteen years ago, when Tae-Yang was only twelve, a catastrophic incident claimed the lives of his best friend Caleb and his grandmother. Ha-eun survived, but the trauma left her bonded to an Aether Core—a dangerous fragment of Deep space energy embedded in her body. Her survival brought to attention a chronic heart condition that required constant medical attention. With that came the cost of such luxury, and Tae-Yang realized he had to be the one to ensure his sister received the care she deserved.
When classified intelligence arrives revealing that Onychinus—a ruthless criminal organization—is actively hunting Ha-eun in the lawless N109 Zone, Tae-Yang's professional and personal worlds collide. The organization seeks to capture her Aether Core for their own purposes. Unable to bear the thought of his sister becoming a target or weapon, Tae-Yang pursues the group himself.
However, the mission ends in disaster. Tae-Yang is ambushed, drugged, and captured. Surprisingly, the ones to free him are Onychinus members, masked strangers wielding dark energy, and an unseen boss named Sylus. Who apparently has long-held interest in Tae-Yang himself.
