Summary
This is new, this sizing up of Phukan in such close proximity. The way Cirrus' breath is still trailing across the skin above his collar, along his jaw. It screams nothing but danger to Phukan, all of it wrong, and despite that, when Cirrus uses his knuckle to tilt Phukan's chin up to meet his eyes again, Phukan feels like everything has just clicked into place.
"Should I believe you, nong? How will you prove it to me?" Cirrus asks, his deep voice a shadow that seems to burrow itself under Phukan's very skin.
Phukan is inexperienced, believed by his own friends to be naive and innocent. He doesn't know what Achi does, what Tee and Nalin do, even what Jin can read in other people. But he does know that this? This cat and mouse game, this power dynamic fuckery, this dominance Cirrus is treating him with?
It's what he wants, probably even more than Cirrus does.
The pad of Cirrus' thumb is on the front of Phukan's chin, and Phukan reaches out with his tongue to flick it over Cirrus' impeccably manicured nail.
"I will follow your orders, Khun Cir."
