What happens when we step away from Canon to see what the stars hold?

Summary
Shadow has been alone. For ten long years, he's been trapped as a ghost inside a run down hotel forgotten by time. Isolated from society. Hunted by those seeking fame. His trust in humanity broke the day he died.
But then Sonic came along.
Sonic's light has chased away the darkness that has been ensnaring Shadow's existence for over a decade. But he's not the only light trying to shine down on the specter. There are others. Others who are loud, boisterous, and colorful.
Shadow doesn't know if he's ready to get close to them, but if Sonic trusts them, then maybe, just maybe, he can at least give them a chance...

Summary
Sonic's life was simple: he worked at an old hotel with his friends Tails, Knuckles, and Amy under the keen yet greedy eye of Rouge. Sure money wasn't great and restoration work was hard, but the hedgehog was content. As long as he earned enough to support his little brother, that was all he needed.
Everything gets turned upside down when Sonic encounters Seaside Hotel's resident ghost: an ebony hedgehog named Shadow. He's quiet, elusive, bejewelled in a dazzling outfit, and mute to everyone except Sonic. If the blue hedgehog wasn't even around, he refused to show his face.
The more Sonic hangs out with them, the more he wants to learn. Just who is Shadow the Hedgehog? What is his connection to Seaside Hotel?
Sonic isn't sure what lies at the bottom of that rabbit hole, but he is determined to take the leap.
