“Oh you guys are in your own picture. You know because you’re together.” she says as she hands him a page.
He looks down at the page. It was a black haired paladin with silver armor, a broadsword, and a heart on his shield with Mike the Brave in blue letters. Holding his hand was a brown haired magic caster in purple robes crude stars all over and a hand raised. It had the name Will the Wise in yellow.
“Yeah the way you guys explained it was confusing. Was Will supposed to a Cleric, Wizard, or a Sorcerer?”
He reaches out a hand to tenderly touch the Will character before her original words reach his brain and shock him.
“What do you mean together?”
“Uh, you guys you’re like together, together.” Holly states like he’s dumb. “Like Aurora and Prince Phillip. Except he’s a prince who got a sleep spell put on him and can he can use magic.”
"No Holly he's not sleeping beauty."
“So you don’t think he’s pretty enough to be a prince?”
“No he’s so pretty!”

Summary
Mike is standing at the balcony railing with his back to Will, looking out at the cityscape. He’s shirtless, and his grey sweatpants hang low on his hips. From his place in the doorway, Will can see the delicate curve of his spine through the hunch of his back, vertebrae shifting in the blueish light just under pale, moon-painted skin.
What really tells Will that something's wrong is in the way Mike’s shoulders are hiked up to his ears, the muscles in his back pulled sharply taut like a cat about to spring.
“Mike?” He says, voice carefully quiet. Mike doesn’t respond, but Will can hear a broken inhale, and something drops in the pit of his stomach.

Summary
Somewhere on the trek back from the Upside Down, moments before the explosion, Will admitted to Mike that he had feelings for him. However, far from being a romantic declaration, Will immediately clarified that he intended to move past those feelings just so they could remain friends.
Denied the space to process what Will’s confession might actually mean to him, Mike has transformed into a fiercely protective presence—or, as Max likes to call it, 'territorial.' Amidst half-finished conversations and terrible communication skills, they will still have to find a way to each other.

Mike and Will have been together for a couple of years, even when distance made loving each other difficult. Will lives in Lenora Hills, California. Mike lives in Hawkins, Indiana. Somehow, they make it work.
In the spring of 1990, Will comes home to Hawkins, and like most teens in love, their actions become reckless. By summer, Mike is placed in a position. A pregnant omega whose family head alpha is rejecting his unborn pup.
So Mike runs.
With only some cash, dreams, and clothes that he stole from friends and left behind by Will, he makes his way to California in the hopes of making it to the Byers' residence before his baby is born. Mike is willing to do everything he can to achieve that dream, because for once he wants to be the one to write the ending of his campaign.
Even though there is a chance that there won't be a single waterfall.

Summary
"When his mom got a call from Joyce inviting him and Nancy to spend Christmas with their family in California, it was an offer he couldn’t convince himself to resist. Still, though, there were moments where he really, really wished he had said no, because since that call there hadn’t been a single moment where he wasn’t at least a little bit terrified for his life."
When Mike realizes he has feelings for Will, the universe is kind enough to give him distance to process, as Will is moving to California the very next day. But when Mike is invited to spend Christmas with the Byers, he is thrust into close proximity with Will before he has time to accept the fact that he is NOT getting over this boy. Now, Mike must come to terms with who he is, how he feels, and WHAT THE HELL he is going to do about it, all before his head explodes right off of his shoulders.
