Summary
Setting: Pre-apocalypse universe where students at age 18 get to look at a glimpse of their future through a technologically advanced crystal ball, called the Prospect Device. The technology was created to help students focus in on their future career so that they can begin studying relevant subjects and taking correct classes. Only students that are graduating high school in the top 10% of their class are given the chance to take their turn with the Prospect Device. It is forbidden to tell others what they view of their future, the scenes presented to them are random, but fairly important future life events. Most of the older generation may have only glimpsed a small portion of the post-apocalyptic world and assumed it to be a dream or a movie they will watch. With the younger generation, it is becoming more obvious what the future holds.
